Barcelona

BARCELONA, SPAIN - Barcelona is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city, a capital of fashion, of modernism. A city which faces the sea and surprises the visitor by its gastronomic, cultural and artistic richness. The capital of Catalonia is the second most populated Spanish city and the tenth of the European Union. It has been the scenario of diverse global events such as the World Fair in 1888 and 1929; and the Olympic Games in summer 1992, which have contributed to shape the city and boost it as a figure of international renown.

It offers to the visitor the possibility to admire from the Roman ruins and the medieval city to the neighbourhoods of Catalan modernism with its characteristic buildings, square blocks, tree-lined streets and wide avenues.

In the urban space we can notice the footprints of great artists who have lived and worked there. Picasso, Dalí, Miró and above all, Gaudí who created the city symbol: the Cathedral of Sagrada Familia.

Boasting more than four kilometres of urban beaches and large forest areas, Barcelona is also a city with recreational quality, offering many resting areas to the visitor.
