Spain – a great destination for student groups

Discovery Student Adventures, part of the Discovery Channel family, visited Spain to look out for newexciting activities and places for student trips.

Paella Cooking ClassThe tour started in Barcelona, Catalonia. During a Paella-Cooking class we learned how to prepare this authentic Spanish dish. We finished our gastronomic adventure enjoying the menu in a friendly and casual atmosphere. Paella-Cooking classes are not only a perfect idea for student groups to get familiar with the Spanish gastronomy; they are also a funny activity for individuals, team-building or incentives. We visited the Spanish Village “The Poble Espanyol” - an outdoor open-air architectural museum, located on the mountain of Montjuïc in Barcelona. In more than forty craft workshops students can discover the ancestral secrets of very diverse disciplines. By a boat-trip to the Islas Medes students can learn about the flora y fauna of this nature reserve. This pocket-sized archipelago, at the Costa Brava, combines seven tiny islands and its clear waters are home to coral reefs – making it a great spot for scuba diving and snorkeling. Another highlight was a trip to Tarraco with its many perfectly preserved pieces of ancient Roman history and archaeological excavations. Different workshops allow students to get familiar with the roman and local culture. Through a Roman Gastronomy Workshop students are introduced in the curious way of life and diet of the Roman age.

Spain has yet become one of the most desired destinations for students from all over the world. Apart from its beautiful cities there exist a range of exciting activities offering an authentic interaction between the Spanish and other cultures making more out of an educational trip.
