The Onyx Restaurant, received on 16th March 2011 its first Michelin Star. Onyx is the second restaurant in Budapest to receive the prestigious Michelin Star recognition from Michelin Guide and its Chef, Szabina Szullo, is the first Hungarian chef to receive the award. The Onyx restaurant has also been ranked Number 3 in Hungary in the Hungarian Best Restaurant Guide for 2010.
Located on Vörösmarty Square in the heart of Budapest, the gourmet downtown restaurant opened its doors in April 2007. Onyx Restaurant offers Hungarian classics with modern elements. The restaurant's Neo-Baroque interior comes with crystal chandeliers and oversized flower motifs. It is the ideal place to have a romantic dinner for two or business lunches with clients. Thanks to the professional and experienced kitchen staff, the restaurant has quickly become well-known and recognized in Hungary. Dishes are prepared from fresh, seasonal, mostly domestic ingredients. At the Onyx Restaurant, half-forgotten, traditional local flavours have been rethought and combined with international flavours to create attractively presented dishes prepared using the latest technologies.
The Onyx Restaurant puts food quality above all else. For this reason, it only takes reservations for up to 6 people for a la carte meals. For groups of more than 6 people, it provides offers from the fixed menus. The restaurant offers two degustation menus and one vegetarian menu always changing with the season. From the wine list, guests can choose from over 200 different wines. The restaurant has 49 seats and is suitable for small groups, incentive or corporate groups.
