A magic idea to include in your next incentive program or event in Prague…

Black Theatre PragueThe Black Theatre in Prague is a totally different theatre which is based on the inability of the human eye to distinguish black on black. It emerged in Prague during the era of communism, when the Czechs did not have the right to freely express their opinions and ideas. Artists protest consisted of the creation of a new dramatic form, in which the fantasy overcomes reality. The Black Theatre is a combination of lights and shadows, dancing and music, fluorescent fabrics with a black background to create a special atmosphere. The actors are completely dressed in black clothes and act on a black background. This makes the viewer only to see what the players want to show. You don’t need to know Czech because the works of black theatre are silent, giving the background music a leading role. There are several black theatres in Prague such as: Ta Fantastika, Black Light Theatre Image, Theater Blanik and others. The probably most famous work is “Aspects of Alice” performed at Ta Fantastika. Based on the motifs of “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll, it takes up the story where Alice ceases to be a little girl. The author allows Alice, with the aid of our fantasy, to experience the wonderful moments of growing up. All this takes place against the background of Old Prague, a city of architectural jewels and rich historical associations. A visit to one of the black theatres in Prague is without doubt, a unique idea for an incentive program or special event in Prague.
